With spring in full swing and summer on its way, wedding season is officially upon us. Whether you are having a small, intimate ceremony, or a bombastic blast worthy of a Bollywood movie, you can’t lose any time in getting ready. You’ll be dealing with plenty of paper products while preparing, even if you are looking for a minimalist approach. So the question is, are you ready?
As the Wedding Approaches
Invitations, save the dates, and RVSPs, along with thank-you cards, are the most essential products associated with a wedding. Even with the rise of social media on the Internet, many couples choose to stick with tradition rather than rely on digital invitations done over the Internet, such as through instant messaging or email. Engagement parties and wedding showers are two events that are not typically hosted by the lucky couple, so these will need to have paper products extending invites and giving more information, even if the paper in question is cardstock. However, for bachelor and bachelorette parties, these can be organized through social media event scheduling or private group chats for hashing out further details.
As for your save the dates: As vital as they are, you don’t need to include them in your wedding preparations. However, these are easy ways to create a large volume of invitations all at once, and particularly for guests who live farther away.
For invitation suites: Figuring out what goes into an invitation suite can be a challenge all on its own as well. Including two envelopes, reception cards, invitations, directions, maps, and reply cards are all advised.
During the Wedding
Once the wedding day dawns, you’re still going to need several different pieces of paper to help the occasion go off without any confusion or problems. Try including thematic signs with quotes and posters for both the venue and the ceremony. Give your guests a unique book to sign as they come in, be sure to hand out programs for how the service will progress and place cards for where everyone is supposed to sit. You’ll also need table numbers, menus, and food descriptions – especially important if anyone on your guest list has dietary restrictions or allergy requirements, such as nuts and gluten, that they must avoid.
