Brochures help you reach a new audience. You can show off your wares and extend your services to old customers who continue to do business with you and help build your customer base. So what can a better brochure do you for your business? Let’s take a closer look at them.
Making It More Visually Appealing
Brochures contain a wide variety of images and text components. Part of making it more effective involves making it more visually appealing. Hook your readers with a question, and then keep them interested with different panels. The inside of the brochure should be where most of the text is. Then, don’t leave out a call to action and some relevant contact information towards the end.
Use Text Sparingly
However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t avoid using text on the front and back covers of your business brochures. Be concise, because you don’t want your potential customers and buyers to be overwhelmed with too much information all at once. Be as clear as possible and make sure your font is legible! Using white spaces is just as important as filling in that space with well-chosen words. However, every word counts, so make sure all the spelling and punctuations are correct so that you don’t accidentally let a mistake slip past your editors.
Add a Pop of Color
The next suggestion is to add some color to your brochure. Choose bright, cheerful colors that catch the eye but don’t blind the readers. Also, another way to make your message more effective is to choose a text color that stands out against the color of the paper that your brochure is printed on. Subheadings and pull quotes will also help make your brochures easier to read. However, there is one more design element you need to be mindful of – the color and text won’t matter if the brochure is impossible to fold.
Folding It Up
Designing the folds goes beyond making sure that your brochure is neat and tidy when not in use. You can organize the flow of information, direct the reader to the most pertinent information you want to focus on, and surprise your readers, too. Try using mock-ups to see how test audiences react to how well your brochures work for them before releasing them to the general public.
