As the school year comes to a close, students all over the nation are looking through their school yearbooks. Most start flipping anxiously to find themselves and pictures of their friends as the books begin to circulate for signatures. However some students that attend Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah weren’t as anxious to pass around their yearbook after they found their own picture. Sadly, some of the pictures had been altered without the knowledge of the student or their parents. Alterations made included the removal of a tattoo, heightened necklines, and added sleeves. These alterations were made to some student pictures, but not others, with no real reasoning behind it. In one case, two students were wearing the same shirt; one was altered while the other remained untouched. All of the altered photos were of female students. Students expressed their shock and outrage at the alterations, saying that it was a breach of their rights and discouraged them from being individuals.
